About Us

What We Believe

One of our most basic convictions is the belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17). God’s Word is the truth (John 17:17), and it is our responsibility as His people “to speak as the oracles of God” (1 Peter 4:11).

When you visit our assemblies, you will see a simple yet reverent worship service. This is because we strive to be pleasing to God by only practicing religious activities that can be found in the Bible.

We do not wear or accept any designations that are not found in the scriptures.  We do not subscribe to any creed drawn up by fallible men. The Gospel of Christ is our only creed; the Bible is our only guide.

We are striving to be a church after the pattern found in the New Testament in:

  • how we become Christians.
  • how we live as Christians.
  • what we teach.
  • the work we do as a church.
  • the way we are organized as a church.

We are trying to speak where the Bible speaks, and be silent where the Bible is silent, to do Bible things in Bible ways, and to call Bible things by Bible names. We are interested in honoring God, in following Christ by learning, doing, and teaching God’s word.

Jesus Christ - is the only begotten Son of God.  Born of a virgin, He lived a sinless life and was crucified on the cross.  He is our Savior, the sinless sacrifice for sins of all people.

The Bible - is the Word of God, divinely inspired and preserved for our guidance today.  It is our only source of authority and direction.  We strive to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent when the Bible is silent.

The Church of Christ - is not a denomination, it is the description of the only church found in the New Testament, the church that belongs to Christ.  It is the body of believers who have obeyed the gospel of Christ.  Each congregation is independent and autonomous.  Each local congregation has local leadership and is not part of a national organization.

Salvation - is available to everyone who responds to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Succinctly, the gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.  As a result of His death on the cross, every man and woman can accept the gospel to begin a life leading to eternity in heaven.  As a person hears the gospel message and believes, one sees their own sins and repents of them.  They confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and then they are baptized for the remission of their sins.

Members – We are the Lord’s church are bound together by our love for God and His Son, Jesus.  As a result, we have abiding love for each other as fellow members of the local congregation.
